About The Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Services
The Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Services (OSP) is a pre-award grant and contract office designed to assist faculty with the wide range of activities associated with attracting external funding, and to provide university administrative services. The primary mission of the office is to facilitate externally funded research, creative and service activities of CUA faculty and staff. OSP acts as the point of academic coordination for the following:
- Submission of proposals to government and private sources for sponsor support of research and training
- Acceptance of awards resulting in sponsored research and training projects
- Administration of internal funding of research
- Coordination of agency regulatory compliance of human subjects and animal use
- Coordination of university research and technology development
- Resource development in federal and private programs
- Identification of funding sources specific to faculty areas of interest
- Work with faculty to develop high-quality proposals
- Organize and conduct workshops for faculty, staff and students on a variety of topics concerning proposals, budgets, compliance and regulations
